MRI COMPATIBILITY WARNING The xG3 and all magnetic implant products should be removed before any MRI or magnetic imaging procedure. While our x-series transponders have tested as compatible with MRI machines up to 7T field strength, all magnetic products are incompatible with MRI machines and procedures.
The xG3 v1 is an axially magnetized injectable biomagnet — a world first in three ways: bioglass encapsulation for lifelong robustness, pre-loaded in a sterile injection assembly (no scalpel needed!), and clinically sterilized via EO gas. The axial magnetization means each end of the rod acts as a pole, making it a jack-of-all-trades magnet for both gentle sensing and discrete lifting. Not sure what biomagnets are all about? The axial v1 reacts to external magnetic fields by moving up and down lengthwise in tissue, activating tactile nerves as it pushes on tissues surrounding each end. The mass of the xG3 creates a lot of inertia, but not so much that it totally dampens all sensing capabilities. The diametrically magnetized v2 rotates in place rather than moving, making it better for lifting but less effective for sensing. See the lifting comparison.
