Accessibility statement
We want this shop to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and higher contrast.
Standard we aim for
We target WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and required of e-commerce services by the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).
Current conformity status
Partially conformant. Most of the shop meets WCAG 2.1 AA, but we have not completed a full independent audit, and some parts of the site are known not to conform yet. We would rather say so than claim otherwise.
Known limitations
- Interactive 3D hand model and placement diagrams. These are canvas-rendered and are not operable by keyboard or exposed to screen readers. The same placement information is available as text in each product's details, but the diagram itself is not an equivalent experience.
- Arcade mini-games. These are canvas-based and require a pointer or keyboard timing input. They are decorative and are not required to browse, choose, or buy anything.
- Animated backgrounds and transitions. Some decorative motion is present. We honour the operating-system
prefers-reduced-motionsetting where the animation is ours; some third-party embedded content may not. - Community content. Posts and images pulled in from our forum are written by other people, and we cannot guarantee that every image carries a useful text alternative.
What we have done
- A skip link to the main content on every page.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, filters, cart and consent controls, with a visible focus indicator.
- Dialogs that trap focus while open, close on Esc, and return focus to where you were.
- A page language declared in the markup, and headings in a meaningful order.
- Tables and wide content that scroll within their own region rather than forcing the page sideways.
Feedback and how to report a problem
If you hit an accessibility barrier here, please tell us — it is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we treat these reports as bugs, not suggestions. Describe the page and what went wrong.
Email office@dangerousthings.com. We aim to respond within 10 working days.
Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to the market-surveillance authority responsible for the European Accessibility Act in your country of residence.
This statement describes the storefront only. Checkout and payment pages are operated by Shopify under their own accessibility conformance.
